Makos Legend Written by Charlotte Hodgson and Brooklyn Boyd This weekend our teacher aid Brendan went to Christchurch to play rugby for the Makos. He was very lucky to get into the finals. It was only his second match. He is really good at rugby and plays with us at lunch times. He can also play basketball. He can jump as high as a kangaroo. He is as fast as a cheetah and as strong as a gorilla. We like Brendan because he is kind and brave and helpful. He had always dreamt of playing with the Makos and now he is getting a chance, because he never gave up his dream. Room 20 say good luck Brendan!!!!

Junius Hour Baking Written by Alex, Josh and Brooklyn We made gingerbread men and sold them at school one Friday. We made $76.20. We are going to give this money to the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary. We did this for our Junius Hour project. It was such fun. I hope they can use the money to help stop all the epts, rats and weasels coming in. Thank you for supporting us. On Friday we made pancakes to sell at morning tea. The money we made is for Socks. Socks is our school cat. He comes to visit our class everyday and sleeps on the pillows in the sun. This was for our Junius hour project. We wanted to make a difference for Socks. We made $63. Written and baked by Maggie Best and Charlotte McCashin

What I would find under the sea if I was a diver? If I was in the deep blue sea I would see a gold statue from the olden days. I might find a jellyfish and whales and stingrays too. Don’t go too close they may sting you!	What I would find under the sea if I was a diver? I went dive really deep and find the coral reef. I would see beautiful star fish and I might find a mermaid. What a great day that would be.

By Emily Brown If I was on a plane wing I would see trees and the ocean and small people down below. I would see white fluffy clouds and the hot hot sun. I would see the shops and the beach and the birds flying in the sky. I would see my school and hotels and roads. They would all look small and far far away!!!! I would feel scared sitting on the wing with my friend Katie because I’d be so high and I’d be near a propeller.

By Otis Dell If I was on a wing of a plane I would see a bird flying past and mountains covered with snow. I would see lots of clouds and small buildings.

Room 20 have created their own class newspaper. They have been learning about the different sections in the paper. They have written poems, done drawings and puzzles all to add to their paper. They have enjoyed creating this and adding with pride their wonderful work. Well done Room 20!!!
